DevilDriver’s Dealing With Demons is a 2-album release with Volumes I & II. Lyrically, it serves as an open, honest reflection of singer/frontman Dez Fafara’s personal life struggles. During the discussion with Dez about his artwork concept, he confessed to me, “I feel like fuckin demons are attracted and crawling towards my light”. It was at this moment that I knew we had our solid direction. I look at these 2 volumes as Dez’s personal exorcism. And I did my best to crawl inside his mind to visually represent that.
Outlaws Til' The End Music Packaging
Outlaws Til' The End is DevilDriver’s genre-blending metal-country album, reimagining classic songs by legends like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., and my personal favorite songwriter and artist Steve Earle. It features guest appearances by Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, Lee Ving of FEAR, Hank3, John Carter Cash, Wednesday 13, and Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory.
The album’s visual concept was inspired by a horse painting I remembered from my best friend’s childhood North Dakota farm home. Passed down from his grandparents, the painting now hangs in his home. The fusion of that inspiration with DevilDriver/Coal Chamber singer Dez Fafara’s always intense vision is my favorite part of all this.
The Limited Edition 12" vinyl was a nominated finalist for Gotta Groove AIGA 2018 Best Illustrated Vinyl.
