$2500 minimum. Price goes up from there. I charge a 25% upfront down payment for your artwork.
Album covers & packaging design, logos, posters, branding, book covers, illustration, fine art paintings, merch and website design.
Typically I am booked three to six weeks out before I can begin your work.
It depends on your workload. Usually a week to 10 days. The huge jobs such as full branding for a business, a custom painting or multi page picture/storybook illustrations will take much longer.
That won't happen. Whether you are a famous superstar or a solitary person in a room with a dream, I work on a first come first serve basis. No exceptions no matter how big your wallet is. Everybody is equal in this shop.
No. There are other artist out there you can find for that. If I take you on, you are commissioning me for my artistic style and aesthetic. It starts with a free consultation conversation where we discuss your concept and vision in detail. If we establish that we are a fit for each other, I then take your concept and work the magic for both of us.
I'll use it strictly for models and objects photography if needed, but I do my best to stay clear of it just out of principle. I have a love/hate relationship with AI. I like being rid of the costly monthly photo stock subscriptions - and hunting for hours to find a photograph I need from them when a budget for a photographer is not an option.
I much prefer to do it the hard way - to put in the long hours, get my hands dirty, see where the canvas takes me. Art is a most fantastic journey, it comes with frustration, self-doubt, high pressure deadlines, and sleep deprivation that you can't even imagine. But there is a tranquil therapeutic beauty in that whole process. And when that magical moment hits and everything comes together? It is an unbelievable high in the most fulfilling way.
AI just can't give me that.
So I look at AI as a challenge- The Man verses The Machine.
I am a classically trained artist from one of the finest Art Universities in the world.
I am forged in Hell and built to Demolish. I am a living, breathing John Henry story.
So when all the electricity goes out, and all the computers in the world go dead?
No fuckin problem, I will still be drawing, painting and designing by candlelight.
Getting it done. Just because I can. And just the way I like it.
It depends; if it is my personal work, then the answer is yes. However, most of my clients/labels have a licensing contract - the work becomes their intellectual property and not for outside use or sale. Although in many cases I can contact them and ask for permission on your behalf for your personal use, they will likely ask for a percentage cut. I sell digital, hi-resolution, PDF print-ready files of my artwork for you to take to your printer, which is the most economical option. I also do signed and numbered framed or unframed prints in pretty much any size. I have many frame options to best match your home decor style. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
Yes, I keep this site updated when I have a showing. You can contact me to get in contact with my Art rep for booking and availability.
Yes, schedule permitting. But only for public school classrooms grades 1 through 5 since most public schools have sadly eliminated their art curriculum. I must have at least 2 adults always present for supervision and assistance. Those adults do not need any artistic experience and are more than welcome to dig in and get their hands dirty with the students. It is typically a 3 day workshop in 4-5 hour blocks per day of learning an introduction to drawing and painting. I provide all the art materials and tools for the students to use, keep and take home with them to continue their personal artistic journeys. We will need access to a sink with soap and water for cleanup, and they should wear their grubbiest clothes. Although I provide aprons, things get Real messy real fast. So dress accordingly, because your "Sunday Bests" will get ruined. You can count on that. Contact me for price rates and availability if interested.
Schedule permitting, yes. Everybody is given a talent in life, whether you have found yours yet or not. It is up to us to discover that talent, nurture it, perfect it and use that talent to make the world a better place. If your charity is for children with cancer or special needs, or cats, you certainly have my attention.
COMA is the name of my art business I started 27 years ago. C.O.M.A. serves as an acronym for Creative Online Music Art. Although I have now branched out from just strictly doing music art, music remains my passion and specialty. I wanted a name like Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell's "Hipgnosis" - and shamelessly lifted their business plan. Like Hipgnosis - COMA is music artwork, but for the on-line digital age. As for the "wall outlet", it is an advertisement "plug". It is a metaphor. When one is in a creative coma, there is an option to keep it safe on life support plugging away at it, or pull the plug. Sometimes you need to pull that plug just to see what's out there outside the box. I find a beauty and challenge in that thought process. As well as a personal fulfillment in it's afterlife.
